Balchik is situated 550 êì east of the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia, 40 êì north of the biggest seaside town – Varna.
Probably many of you would prefer to look around the region by taxi. This type of transport will cost you 0.60-0.70 leva/km. There is a starting fee which varies and is up to 1 lev. All the taxis are yellow and have the "TAXI" sign. It is important for you to know that every taxi driver is obliged to issue a receipt for the service. That will guarantee you that you haven’t paid more than necessary. Every taxi has a pricelist of the services.
Often taxi drivers invite people to use their services. Our advice is to first consult a licensed tour operator about this.
